Looking for a source or sources of “White Mahogany”. I had some boards that were sent to a lumber broker friend. But, he can’t remember the source and does not know of a source. I made some very nice boxes using this material. But, now my supply is gone. Help!!!
I live in East Texas 100 miles east of Dallas, 26 miles south of Tyler and about 200 miles from Houston.

White mahogany is a name used for prima vera cybistax donnel - smithii a South American hardwood. However, in Australia several species of eucalyptus are marketed as white mahogany. I'd check out http://www.woodfinder.com to search for sources.
I wonder too, if he's not referring to Phillippine mahogany, lauan- specifically white meranti.Lee
Possible, though he said he got the material from a lumber broker who I assume would always know where to get Luane, even if he had forgotten the source of something more exotic.
