White Pine Plank Floor Dilemma.. What to finish with??
Hello everyone, I have become so informed by this site but also SO very confused. I laid white pine plank flooring down myself, and I didn’t do my do research on what kind of stain is best. I used Minwax “wood finish”. My original plan was to use 100% tung oil as my finish. After reading several post I have come to realize the tung oil will not penetrate b/c the varnish in the Minwax stain :-/ can someone please offer another finish. It’s a high traffic area (3 kids, 2 dogs and a hubby)
Thank You
Kelly

Floor finishes
Hi Kelly,
Bona Kemi makes some very good floor finishes (e.g., Bona Traffic). Let the stain dry completely before applying the finish. Read all the steps before starting and make sure you have all the supplies ahead of time.

If it's a tung oil finish than you can go over the stain. Put the hubby to work before he gets spoiled.
