I have wondered why there is no classified section on the Finewood Working forum. I have stuff that might be of interest to people here. Multiples of certain items, things that I purchased to do a specific project and now just sit or 17 ways to accomplish the same task. I’ve dealt on Craigslist and partly because I’m far away for most people and also because there are an astounding number of flakes I avoid using it.
What got me thinking about this though is that a woodworker friend has lost the plot ,as they say, and is now in cognitive care. Its been a long time coming but now it is here and now everything has to go. A lifetime of collected tools going up for grabs and since his care is a freaking fortune he needs the money. He was a full time woodworker always and based on how he lived he probably doesnt have very much. He did have tools though! The woman that I was talking to is maybe a bit delusional about the value. Really at best all of it will only cover a couple of months of care. That’s how this tool thing goes unless someone takes it on as a fulltime job!
I’m WAY passed the point of ” if something comes in the shop something has to go out” so basically I need nothing. I’d purchase wood maybe and since all of us have cool unique small things I might be interested in some of those. If I don’t have it by now I probably don’t need it!
A forum such as this though would have people possibly that would interested in the stuff he has. So maybe this is a question for the monitor-How come no classifieds?
