I am looking for instructional articles or books on the subject of window joinery, any ideas? Google is not much help here. Thanks

The trick in this case is to know what to search for in Google. What you want is a "millwork book". Millwork is the old trade name for doors, windows, and other architectural work.
There hasn't been a lot published in the past 50 years but the old books, and their reprints, are what you are looking for.

John,Thanks for your thought. I should have seen that as I spent my youth working with an uncle who did a lot of 'millwork'.
