I just got done with a week long class with Tom Schrunk of MN in veneer work. Tom’s resume is amazing, but his work speaks for itself if you check out his site. www.thomasschrunk.com is his site. I met Tom at last years Northern Woods Fine woodworking competition, and was impressed on how willing he was to share. I try to take a class a year, and called him to see if he would take me on for a week to make some radial burl faces, and to learn some of his techniques. He agreed, and we had a ton of fun. One on one is the way to go if you can get them to do it. I made a beautiful 20 piece radial out of ash burl with mahogany banding, and 6 smaller pieces to take home. We went through everything from how to mass produce filleti, to making all 20 points of a radial touch. Tom proved to be a masterful and kind teacher even though it was his first time. He loves to do the veneer work, but does not like making the pieces that use the faces he makes. It is a shame because he is an excellent designer and woodworker. He says he is just trying to move his focus to just veneer work. With that in mind I’m posting his info into the classified areas. Tom is very affordable. $40 an hour. He holds two patents, and I think you will be seeing more of his work all the time. He did say he would be willing to teach again if you want to contact him. Thanks Josh

Cool...I like seeing innovative work like this. I file this in my "for-inspiration-n-investigation" bin. Thanks.
