Fellow Wood workers,
I have been using plain old yellow glue for quite a long time with great results.(20 + years) Recently I picked up a bottle of Gorilla Grip glue and was stunned by the price. Is it that much better than regular yellow glue? Am I out of touch with today’s technology, Isn’t the strength in how well the joint is made or is it now in what kind of super glue you use.

You are correct. The poly glue is no stronger than PVA adhesives. In addition, it is more messy, stains your hands and contains possible carcinegins. One plus is that it is waterproof, but no more so than Type II PVA.
*hey william. i switched completly over to gorilla glue. it is much stronger (ive tested it on several different woods), fills in minor imperfections, longer assembly time, impervious to moisture, and the dried product is very sandable. or you can remove it with a knife or chisel. i swear by the stuff
*Danyou really seem to have a thing for gorilla glue don't you? my current favorite is "weldbond" pva type, waterproof, dries clear etc etc and strong as hell, best of all price is pretty good.AJ
