I have a Powermatic 45 wood lathe and I’m looking for suggestions on what other tool rests will fit this lathe. The tool post is 1-1/8″ diameter and I would like to stay away from round rests.
Thanks!

Tony, I don't know what all the options are, but I have seen some mighty convenient tool rests made fro hardwood shaped to suit the operator's specific needs-might be worth thinking on.
On the other hand, if you find a tool rest that you like , but it has a post of diameter smaller than 11/8th then you could sleeve it, or bush the post if small enough.
Thanks Phillip,
I made the current round rest I have, but am looking for a rest that can be set a bit closer to the work!
I've thought about making another rest from angle iron, or even making another round and milling the top flat to achieve a closer set point. My problem is my time is very encumbered!
BTW, very beautiful planes!
