Does anyone know of a reference for what the seasonal expansion and contraction is for individual species of wood?

Get R. Bruce Hoadley's "Understanding Wood" published by Taunton a long time ago. Still a great resource for all questions of wood technology, including expansion factors for different species.

Hoadley is the standard resource in an intelligible form. This is free, and has much of the same information, without the explanation, examples, and photos:

Ditto again Hoadley's book. It was recently republished in a revised version.
