Try Frank Miller in Union City, IN. They specialize in quarter and rift sawn stock. I know it's a ways away, but they will deliver to my area (Cincinnati) so they may also do so to Louisville, also. For small orders, they just combine orders on one truck, so as long as you can be flexible with delivery time, they will deliver to your home or business.
They do retail and wholesale.

Already have it on my calendar. I thought between posting here and the woodworking show I ought to be able to generate a pretty good list of potential suppliers. Thanks for the information so far.
There doesn't seem to be any "regular guy" friendly hardwood places in Louisville. I get the impression that we have to go to Indiana for hardwood unless we want a job-lot, and then we don't get to pick it ourselves - they'll pick it for you and have it ready for you the next day - and you are not welcome in the actual yard.
So, I've passed on the "opportunity" so far. I've gotten the wood that I've used so far in Napanee, Indiana, 'cause I was there, and they have a nice selection, good prices, and a great, friendly attitude.
I Lived in Louisville for some time and now live in Va. I was the shop manager @ Excel Shop when it was located in St. Mathuews, you may want to talk with Steve Weber he may be able to help you or send you to someone that can.
