HI all, I am flying to Albany NY tomorrow for the weekend…My company is moving there and we are looking at the area, each of us considering moving with the company. As I like to do woodwork at home I am wondering if anyone is on here living in the area and can tell me of some good sources of hardwoods..I would think there would be , I am originally from Beverly MA.. any other thoughts about living conditions in Albany would be a help
thanks

Check >>> http://www.woodfinder.com <<< when you get to Albany. There are 10 dealers listed within 100 miles. Luck with your search.Be not afraid of going slowly. Be afraid only of standing still. chinese proverb
Ed,
Welcome back home...kinda...only three hours away.
I don't live in the Albany area but I do travel over in that general vicinity frequently. I can tell you there are tons of trucks hauling cut trees from northern NY up to Canada for processing. Also along the border with PA there are numerous kilms. Lastly, your only 45 mins from southern Vermont...can't be too far from 'Jeff in Vermont'.
Just in case you've forgotten your days in Beverly, MA....our soil out here is lousy for vegs but great for trees...
Oh, I only left Beverly 6yrs ago so hasnt been that long...I had a nice garden there too! Try planting anything in this DESERT!! I may like moving back east, I just dont miss all the dreary days, and the wood is more money here too!makinsawdust
Ed,
Hopefully, you'll bring some of that sun with you..we have had lots of rain, cold and generally lousy conditions...good shop wheather though...
just haven't been inclined to go fishing up at Plum island yet this year...
