I am interested in making wooden bench screws for building workbenches and vises. I know that threaders are available up to 1 1/2 inches. However, I would like to find a threader and tap that would make bigger wood screws, such as 1 3/4 or 2 inches. Does anyone know if they are available and where I might can find one?
Thanks

I've never made wooden threads so I have no personal experience. For large diameter threads you could use a lathe and thread chasers. This was described by Richard Starr in FWW Issue 60 (Sep/Oct 1986) in an article entitled "Chasing Large Wooden Threads".
