Question.
Does anyone have experience of purchasing tools from Woodcraft (USA.)and having the delivered to the United Kingdom.
Specifically ,does United Kingdom Customs Levy the 17.5% Value added tax and the 3% Customs tax adding a total of 20.5% to the order and are there any additional charges made by the carrier

Why not ask the Customs and Excise. There may be other wrinkles ,like brokerage fees ,or can you broker your own.You may be able to be exempt on certain items if unatainable in the EU.It is a complex subject and the UK has hundreds of years of passing nightmare laws of great complexity

Charn... I haven;t bought from Woodcraft although I've made quite a few transactions with stateside companies... long and the short of it is the degree of interest HMC will pay to your package will depend entirely on its value... Although I've frequently had to pay a fee for a parcel to clear customs, their invoice doesn't declare the fee as "duty"... merely VAT nad a parcelforce handling fee...
IF you're lucky, you just might benefit from a parcel escaping their attention...
