That $5 is about what they are worth. Can't sell them at regular price so they need to dump them.
DJK, for generl all around use, still a bargain
If only to just sit here and look at the whole set.
Stein.
This is a regular sales technique for Woodcraft -- their way of enticing you to the web site, with the idea that you'll buy some other stuff while you're there. "Loss leader" I think they call it in the retail biz.
BTW, I'd love to know, have you ever used a Woodcraft bit?forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I know about loss leaders, but a cheap bit is still a cheap bit.
Yes, I have used a Woodcraft bit. Received a few as a birthday gift, some 1/4" shaft edge forming bits; roundover, chamfer, ogee. Lots of chatter and vibration. A cheap bit is a dangerous bit. I know a person who received 20 stiches in the arm from a bit that broke.
"A cheap bit is a dangerous bit." I would add that, in general, a 1/4" shaft bit is more likely to be dangerous than a 1/2" bit. I hardly ever use them.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
The only time I use 1/4" shaft bits are in the trim router.
Hi forestgirl,
I've only got Whiteside bits, I've never used Woodcraft bits. Woodcraft has a woodworkers club over in Connecticut. I've got to head over there, after I get my personal budget deficit under control.

f4, Those Woodcraft bits on sale are anti kickback carbide with 1/2" shafts
I,ve paid a lot more for Woodcrafts bits , so that WAS a bargain.
Funny you mentioned Connecticut.
I Love Woodcraft for their nice selection of wood ,Their birthday (Once a year)sale. 10% off During the month of your birth.
Also, they have a router bit of the month sale 12 times a year.
The store I use is in Manchester Ct. Where are you ?

Hi stein,
I'm swimming in router bits. I've got every one that Whiteside has every made. As for thw woodworkers club, I've been looking at the one in Norwalk. I'll head over there and join once I've got my bills knocked off. I'm located in Yonkers, N.Y.

Getty Square? Yonkers Raceway? Westchester Mechanics picnic? Yonkers Ferry ?
Van Cortlant House? Used to swim in the Hudson ?(Forgot the name of the beach) Nepperham Ave? Bronx River Parkway?
Stein.
Hi stein,
Getty Square is still there, although it's changed over the years. And not for the better, I'm afraid!
Yonkers Raceway, the ponies still run there, but the family that owns it have been trying to unload it for the last 15 years. Nobody wants to buy it, they even tried to get Steinbrenner to build a ball park so they would come. He didn't and neither are the fans!
The Westchester Mechanics picnic, must be before my time!
Yonkers Ferry, the pier is at least still there!
Van Cortlandt House was refurbished and is now a museum
Swimming in the Hudson, don't know of any beach, I was only born in 61.
Nepp & the Bronx River are still traveled.

My son was born in '62
Me? 1930
Born in the Bronx (Were better days then too. )

Yeah, it was a completely different world back then. too bad we can't go back!

Hey, thanks for letting us know! I bought several last year during the infamous Cabinetmaster Clamp sale. Have to check it out and see if there's other profiles I need!
