A tandem no less! Style is not to my taste but then I have no taste! Certainly unique.

while certainly artistic, as a bike constructed from wood it is not a first. This company sells wooden bikes for kids, they are really neat.

How about bamboo?

Price range $1495 to $4495 - frame only.
And to think I swallowed hard before spending $900 for my table saw!
One of the owners of my local bike shop got a bamboo Calfee; it was on the shop floor for a while, and I had a chance to ogle it. Very, very cool! Has to be sent back occasionally for rework as the bamboo dries and shrinks, but otherwise it's a totally rideable (even raceable) bike.Last year Craig Calfee showed off a version of the bamboo bike with cowhorn bars - made from real cow horns.Interestingly enough, he's now experimenting with replacing the carbon fibers in the wrapped-up joints with hemp fiber. The bike naturally eases the rider's pain and increases the rider's appetite when the rider has a crash and burn incident.
