I am looking at building a simple rectangular wood box (no bottom) with a hinged lid to hide and protect my outdoor irrigating valves. Any ideas?

To me, part of the fun of woodworking is to identify the problem and then design the solution. With all the plans that exist, there is probably one but finding it is a another matter, so just design and build. I built one for a similar application to cover the shutoff valve. I made it with alift off top from cedar fencing. Is has dried so much that all the nails and glue are popping so I guess I will have to redo it. I suppose I will try treated lumber next time.
