Good Morning All,
Recently my Brother-In-Law asked me to build him a
Wooden Parcheesi Game Board. When I obviously blanched,
he continued his conversation with “all ya gotta do is…”
which is what most people who have no idea what they’re
talking about start out a conversation with. You know the type…
I am blessed with fabulous In-Laws and this is something I
would like to make for him. However – this currently falls outside
of my present skill set.
I searched the Internet for info with no luck. Can you point to any
books and / or methodology that I can start reading up on to plan
my approach?
Any advice is much appreciated.

hi bill,
after looking up the board on line, it would not be too difficult to inlay various colored wood to make up the simple shapes. as far as those circles, divided by arcs, i might want to make up a precise router template to fashion those. the shapes are all quite simple and it looks like it might be a fun project.

Yeah, all ya gotta do is . . .
I, too, would see it as an exercise in creating inlay patterns, along with stringing to make the outlines for the various shapes. Keeping the pieces that are supposed to be the same size consistent might be a challenge, as would be keeping the stringing circles and arcs bent and consistent.
I've never done inlay build-ups, so I don't have any reliable advice. But, I'd still quote your brother-in-law a price of $14,763.42. ;-)
Ralph,I think I may have bid a bit too low......(sigh)Thanks!Bill-
