"Creative Puzzles of the World" has some "how to make" regarding wooden and many other puzzles you can produce in a relatively simple shop. If you like puzzles, I think you'll find this book to be a joy. I wouldn't say that it's the authority on wooden puzzles, though - sorta covers all styles. I found a great web site by doing a google search a while back - sorry don't remember the address. The inventor - well recognized among puzzle affectionados - actually tells you how to make all the puzzles he sells. - keep looking - you'll find it. There's seemingly hundreds of them there with all levels of difficulty.

That site that Dave mentioned is great. The Stewart Coffin CD you can order there is the best book I've ever read on the topic. For other books, here's some. Fifty years ago, Edwin Wyatt wrote two classic little pamphlets: "Wonders in Wood" and "Puzzles in Wood". They're both reprinted now, and have lots of good puzzles. Recently, James Follette wrote "New Wood Puzzle Design", which is pretty good, too.
The best FREE woodworking information that I have found is called: the project guttenburg book of woodworking joints
Just type it just like that in to your browser. You will get the whole ebook which is free for distribution. It can be a long download if you don't have cable or DSL. You have to use one of the HTML files to get the pictures included with the text or else they are in a separate file. The puzzles are in the back of the book.
Enjoy,
