Hello all,
I have read thru the archives on this question, but was hoping for some new responses. Does anyone have a Woodmaster 725 25″ planer/molder and can comment on its good and bad qualities as a planer? I usually prefer lots of cast iron, but the 25″ capacity with single phase power is a nice attraction. I’m mostly concerned with issues of snipe or feed problems. Thanks for any comments!

I first owned a Woodmaster 718 and now I also have a 725. The 725 is now outfiited with a insert head. Both of these are good machines, the 725 is a bit more heavy duty. The 725 will produce snipe free planing if the feed rollers are properly adjusted and the stock to be planed is flat on the surface that faces the bed. If your stock is not flat then you most probably will get snipe on even the best setup machine.
