Woodmaster users- comments please
Hi there,
I’m thinking of buying a wood master in order to make my own moulding for a house.
Is this a reasonable idea?
Would it just be cheaper to buy the moulding? Is the woodmaster too wimpy? Would it be good for doing this everyday- all day? Would the material have to be dressed before feeding it in or can you feed 1 inch material in an get 5/8 finished product? Any feedback is appreciated!
Cheers

I've been in a shop that has two 25" Woodmasters. They are not wimpy at all, that being said if you need molding for one house I would buy it rather than make it. The woodmaster does everything the makers say it will do, very well too. Material must be thicknessed first, then molded. This machine will do both, plus sand and straight line saw. I haven't seen the medium size (18") or smaller version (12") but I believe they are the same quality as the larger machine. I have not run these machines myself as I generally did installations for this millwork outfit. These machines are run 5 days a week and sometimes continually, depending on the needs.

I believe there have been a couple of fairly recent threads about this on Breaktime.
