Just checked the archives and doesn’t seem to be much recent comment on these machines. I’m hoping that by now there are enough users to have formed some sort of opinion and I know that this group is not shy when it comes to tool reviews.
Thanks,
Joe

I am an extremely pleased user of a woodrat. Makes Mortice and tenon work very fast and is superb at dovetails. I don't use it much for the dovetails on the actual carcase or large drawers, but when doing many small drawers, wow it is fast and accurate.

I bought a WoodRat in April and have studied the hell out of both the manual and the DVD demonstration. That's because my new home and shop will be under construction until December 10. Can't set the machine up.Among the woodworking community one hears both young and old voices. The young ones are fequently abuzz about CNC machines for woodworking. Especially after attending shows. The more I learn about this stuff - I'm a wood newbie -- the more scared I am of router tables and shapers. And the more I appreciate what a person can do with the WoodRat. Another good site is chipsfly.com They too have a forum (not too active) downloads of the new WR manual, along with how-to articles. It is sponsored by The Craftsman Gallery in Ohio, the U.S. importer. You simply can't find their kind of service, except perhaps at Lee Valley Tools. Here's two more websites in England related to the WR.aldel.co.uk
cornishworkshop.co.ukOn the Cornish site, go to "Projects" for a demo of how furniture is built with the WoodRat.Gary Curtis
