Hello friends,
I find myself in Germany per order of my military service. I had a great shop set up when I was in NC, and was somewhat disappointed when I found out I was moving to Germany. I am in a small town close to Bavaria called Ansbach. The military instillation that I am stationed at has a surprisingly well equipped shop on post. (Made me feel a lot better about selling my big tools) I have a couple questions to ask concerning my stay here in Germany. The first one is what are some good woods to look for while here in Germany? (I searched Dr. Google for hardwoods and woodworking woods in Germany with no avail) The second question is does anyone know where I can find any traditional German woodworkers. My third and last question is are there any well known tool suppliers in Germany. Thank you for your time my friends and have a blessed day.

Dear Mr. Garner,
I'll see if any of our experts have input for you, but I'll move your question into the "You're the Expert" folder. Hopefully other members will have feedback as well.
I'd also suggest that you post your question in our sister forum Knots.
Thanks,
