Woodtek Hybrid table saw squeels at start
My 1-year old 10″ Wooktek hybrid table saw has a start up “squeel” within the first 1/2 second then it runs and sounds normal. I don’t recall it giving that squeel when it was new. Any thoughts on what could be the cause of this? I use a Delta Dust Collection system and tied to the 4″ chute. The interior is pretty clean and clear and vacuumed out, but the initial squeel won’t go away.

Try this first.
If the saw has a belt, and it probably does, my first guess would be that the belt is slipping. So you will need to tighten the belt, which on many saws is an annoying awkward job since most saws don't have a good tensioning mechanism.
Agree with John that is probably the belt. Not un-common on V groove belts. While you are inside you might check the belt for cracks and the inside surface to make sure it has not glazed over from friction heat. I doubt it in one year but you're in there anyway so why not...
If the squeel isn't too bad, I'm wondering if some automotive belt dressing might do the trick? Comments?
IMO.. probably would Scott but like rubbing a bar of dry soap on an automotive belt as we did back in the good ole days to temporarily stop the squealing.. you are simply putting a band-aid on a bleeding artery and the root of the real problem isn't really fixed. :>)
