For serious “Wood Guys or Gals” in SoCal or those willing to make a pilgrimage. The ‘Gamble’ is akin to the Great Pyramid and right in our back yard in Pasadena, Ca. A 2 1/2 hour, 8 person (max) tour with the guy that has arguably done more Green & Green restorations and recreations than anybody is a rare opportunity. Pass this one along if you know somebody in SoCal that would be interested.
To give due credit I found this in an article in Woodworker West

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

I have been trying to see the Gamble House but I'm always out there over the Christmas Holidays and they're closed that week.
Thanks for the link. I hope I can take this tour with Jim I. sometime soon. I've done the regular tour. It is just too short to satisfy my G & G cravings.
For thise planning a trip to the LA area, Huntington Gardens has a small exhibit of G&G furniture that you can examine up close and at your own pace. Photos allowed but no flash.

If ever you were going to make a special trip you'd want to come during the "Bungalow Weekend". Lot's of exhibits, walking tours and open houses. I think it's in October.John O'Connell - JKO Handcrafted Woodworking

If you can't visit the Gamble House in person, check out Darrell Peart's online tour of the place on the subscription side of FWW.com. He also narrates a video on the Hall brothers: The Craftsmen Behind Greene and Greene.
