How does one go about getting accredited to be an instructor in woodworking. I have been involved in building furniture and cabnetry for about 5 years now and it truely is my passion in life. I own a small business in a dissimilar field, but I one day dream of leaving it and pursuing some sort of carrer in woodworking be it teaching or simply becoming a self-supporting craftsman.
Any advice?

Clay- I really don't know what sort of accreditation is out there for woodworking instructors- and I don't know anyone who is. State schools may have some requirements and programs but all the woodworking instructors that I know are simply people who are good at what they do, are passionate about the field, and most are good at teaching (the passion goes a long way on that one!)
I would caution you about turning an enjoyable and rewarding hobby into a "job". If it is your only source of income it usually takes quite a long time to make enough money to support yourself and you may find yourself taking any job just to pay the bills (how many people do I know that have furniture training and aspirations who are pounding nails?)
Teaching part time as an avocation or taking commission work can be great fun. You are augmenting your income doing what you enjoy and are still able to call your own shots.
Good luck
