Living in rural Indiana and not knowing alot of people, especially other woodworkers, I never thougt there would be a woodworking club available. Indeed, the closest I knew about was in Lafayette, a good hour’s drive from my home in Denver. A few months ago I had an old aquaintence mill some lumber for me and he mentioned a group from the Wabash-Miami area that met once a month, the Sawdust Gang. By the third meeting I learned that this was an informal group that had only been meeting for about a year and the group leader felt we should take the club to the next level, making it a more organized entity.
So my question is for other members who are involved in clubs. How is your group organized, do you have a single meeting place, do you have dues, etc? I’m just looking for ideas that work for y’all…I know trial and error is a good teacher but sometimes avoiding other’s mistakes is a bit more efficient. Thanks.

Wish there were more groups around - I'm in NY and nothing really here?

woodworking clubs
although unintended, one of the underlying messages in my post is that there may be a club in your area that you just don't know about yet.
