Fellas,Looking to build a work table on wheels and then be able to drop down onto the legs to make it more stable. Any one have any ideas. This is for a commercial shop, (3 men) My last table was 36” by 9ft. I’m thinking of a table 5ft by 7ft. Its for assembly of cabinets. I know Norm built one, It seemed to complicated. I guess I can steal some ideas from it.
Thanks guys, Lou

Look up floor locks in http://www.mcmaster.com page 1257. We use them on very heavy tables. See the adjustable leg systems on page 1603. A bit expensive but if you figure your time in designing something versus the time and safety issue of spraining your back it's a no brainer.
Wow.. Adjustable-Height Hydraulic Retrofit Systems! Now that is COOL!
Hi Lou,
Might want to check this out: http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/Workshop/WorkshopArticle.aspx?id=28856
Might get some good ideas anyway. This is Part 2 and it has plans that you can download. I think it might require a subscription to this site to get to it though.

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!

I used a set of these on a table around 36x48. So far so good.
I built Norms and it is easier than it looks. Can't do better for the price of materials. Very flat and sturdy, easy to move.
