Hi everybody, Does anybody have any experiance with these work trucks by utilimaster called trade master? I have been looking to buy a cube van and ran into one of these and it looks sweet. It is not cheep but looks very well made and seems to have a place for every thing with about 5 exterior doors per side that can be accessed from inside if you want to, and can be locked all at once with the flip of a lever and 4 heavy duty racks on the roof. With shelfs on the inside. Anyway any comments good or bad would be helpfull.
Thanks Mikehttp://utilimaster.com

I loaned a friend of mine the money to buy a used step van to start his plumbing co. and we set up all kinds of shelving in it . This setup is by far the way to go if you have a large quantity of tools as you can walk down the center and have everything easy to find. I gave him an old porsche seat for drivers side he set up one of those power converters to keep his cordless batteries charged and to run a 12" fan.the rig your looking at is awsome with all those toolboxes on the outside. HOW MUCH?

I MAY DISAGREE WITH WHAT YOUR SAYING BUT I WILL DEFEND TO THE DEATH YOUR RIGHT TO SAY IT.
Andysz2,
Hi sorry to take so long to get back to you. I guess I mistakenly put this post here cause when I posted it I thought I was in the general dicussion forum and then I could not find It so I typed it all over again, over there. To error is human to really screw up takes a computer! But anyway I have kind of, sort of, narrowed it down to the 12' box with dual wheels and gas engine. but now I am not sure if I should really bite the bullet and get an e450 with diesel and the 14' body. I have gotten one dealer to go as low as 26,400 for the gasser but I cant get them to budge on the diesel @ 34,500. Im sitting pretty good with no debt right now and about a 1 1/2 year work load so that is why i can even think about doing this. but i always try to think long term when it comes to work. and i worry that the 350 might not be heavy duty enough for all the stuff i will be carring around. Anyway I will let you know what turns out.
Thanks Mike

my experience is with trucks fitted with externally assessible boxes, with a cargo well in the centre, much like the TradeMaster but with no roof over the area where you might carry materials. Worked great on a job site 'cause a required tool was always immediately to hand without the need to climb into and out of the vehicle. Was also great at the start and end of each day for ease of access to the tools. With a bit of fore thought, an entire task related tool kit could be stored behind each hatch. Worked great on the job site especially at the start and end of each day and space between the external boxes was big enough for sheet goods, or ladders, etc.
