Hi John,
First off, I am very impressed with your workbench design. So much so, that I am going to build one for myself. I reviewed the current thread on the the workbench and have the PDF file for planning the design. Would you happen to recall the measurements for boring the holes for the 10 inch well to ensure correct clearance for all the elements in the bench top? Did you use a 3 inch boards for the well?
Thanks so much.

The original design required that the lengthwise pipes be set at a height that supported the removable panels at exactly the the right height to be flush with the bench top. What other makers have done, and which I recommend, is to rabbet the long sides of the well and support the panels from the benchtop instead of the pipes. Set up this way the long pipes should be set at a height to clear the underside of the panels by probably 1/8" or so.
The cross pipes for the front vise need to be set so that they just clear the long pipes. The rail on my bench is 3" wide.
