Just a little FYI. Amazon is selling the Worksharp 3000 for $159 with free shipping. I have not seen it this cheap anywhere. I paid $199 plus tax!! I don’t know how long it will last so move quickly if you need one!

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to order one the other day when I ordered a couple routers. Would have been at the $199 price. At that price I was thinking that maybe it would be better to buy some good water stones. So I held off. At $159 it wins over buying some water stones. I think I may still get a really fine water stone or two. Just not all at once like I was thinking.
So, I just ordered one. I am away from home so the longer free shipping doesn't matter. Win win for me.
Thanks for the post.
Ben: Have you ever tried glass & Norton ( wet) paper? If not, it is "scary" sharp.

Actually no I have not. I am just getting going again with woodworking after about 15 off. I have been dabbling for the last 5 years or so. But I had a small space and that space had to share with other items as well. Now I have room I am starting some decent sized projects. In the past I bought just so so tools. Now I am picking up a decent tool here and there (as wallet permits). Now getting serious in taking care of them as well. At $199 I could wait on a power sharpener. But at $160 and I don't think it will be any lower anytime soon. I decided it was a good time to grab one. It was more a price issue than having to have one right now kinda thing.
Well, that ship sailed pretty fast. $199.99 now.
Wow, I should buy a lottery ticket today. Hope I didn't use up all the luck on the Worksharp. ;-)
Would'nt you know it. Just got mine in the mail yesterday. $199.00...(*&^%@%&.

Brian, write or call them (I can get you the phone number). I've read at least once that can give results (get a credit for the difference between the sale price and what you paid, when it's that close time-wise).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Have to double check but pretty sure I got it from Woodcraft. Think I'll give it a shot anyway. Longtime customer etc...etc... Can't hurt to try right?
Brian
Oops, sorry, somehow I got the impression (a$$-umed) you got it from Amazon. That kind of price reduction would be a big hit for a Woodcraft store.

Ya, I guess I didn't check enough sources before ordering. Oh well. Still going to try whining at Woodcraft. Ya never know! B
