Hi,
It’s starting to get very hot now and I wanted to try and sort out some ventilation for my garage workshop. I only have the garage door in the garage, no other window or door so there is no cross ventilation. All the saw dust blows back into the garage even with the dust collector on. I was thinking of putting a fan up above the garage and running some flex ducting from a shady part of the outside and then having ehaust above my cabinet saw. That way I’ll get some air blowing on me and should help reduce the blow back of saw dust. Any advice would be appreciated.

My sympathy. You should check with a local weather authority (TV weather persons are usually forthcoming with info.) to learn the direction of the prevailing wind where you live. If it blows into your garage, that is where your dust will go. Your fan may give you comfort, but that may be all. Is it possible to modify any of the other walls?

Buy a cheap square fan (from Wally's world) and put a furnace filter on the side of the fan that the air enters; This will work fine and this will block the dust from moving around in the workshop and keep a nice breeze going

MB, It's really simple, check with the local weather folks, figure out the right angles and call Harry the house mover, jack up the house and garage and rotate to the correct angle, pour a new foundation and relocate all of your utilities. OR put a window in the rear wall or the rear end of an exterior wall and use a large reversible window fan. Worked for me. If you have NO exterior access at the rear(you never specified) then use the over head with as much CFM as you can install from the rear of the space to create a positive displacement towards the open front door. If you live near Long Island give me a shout(email) as I have a gagle of windows from a remodel with storms gratis. Pat
