Hello and Help
I am about to build a timber workshop /shed and would be grateful for advice/suggestions as to the vapour barrier in the floor area (UK.) Iam happy with wall and roof insulation and venting .The workshop will be built on timber sleepers on the ground . Joists laid on these with insulation between the joists, and flooring on top.Would it be a good idea to put vapour barrier over joists and insulation and under flooring . your help and advice would be appreciated.
Regards Teabag.

You might want to post this over in Breaktime where the builders live.
I'm not entirely clear on your set up but I would put the vapor barrier on the ground, UNDER the joists. Lay a 2 inch bed of sand, roll out some 10 mil poly, and cover with another 2 inches of sand to protect it from those Doc Martins while you install the joists, etc. Hopefully, there is some distance between the joists and the ground and you can ventilate the area too. While you're at it, run your major electric and dust collection ducting under the joists, its a very clean setup.

if you use styrafoam for the insulation then you don`t need the vapour barrier.
