Hello,
I was given a steel handplane with simply the name “WS” on the lever cap .
It appears to have an early Stanley type frog and is marked “A4, Made in Birmingham and the WS logo” in the casting.
Logo is a wide W with a wide S behind it
The same logo is on the cap iron and blade.
The blade is made in Sheffield.
It is a #4 in size.
Has anyone seen one of these and/or knows who made it? I was unable to find any info on the internet.
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks,
Wil

I have a WS rebate plane with a cast steel blade, the original double armed one, that Woden and then Record copied.Woden bought WS in the early 50s,and,Record bought Woden in the early 60s.
