Hello, Does anyone think that the cursor on the Jet Xacta fence is hard to read? My father in law has just purchased a new Jet ts and because the cursor on the fence is magnified it is very hard to set the fence without getting right on top of it. Does jet offer another cursor or is there another fix for this? I did a search of the archives but didnt look like there was anything there. THANKS.

I agree, It's a dumb fix to a problem that wasn't there. I've been going to make my own out of plexiglass, but havn't got it done. I wondered about shiming that cursor closer to the tape, and eliminating some of the paralax. Haven't got that done either, but I did put a line extending down the back of the angle iron, so when I'm directly over the cursor, I can tell by sighting down that new line. I like the Biesmeyer cursor, something more like it is in order in my opinion.
Tzach,
To fix the cursor problem -
First cut a piece of plexi' or similar material to the same length and width as the factory cursor. Carefully drill four holes in the piece using the factory unit as a guide - mark the holes and drill, don't drill through the original. Screw the newly fabricated piece to the top of the stock cursor, then screw the other side to the fence. This will offset the stock cursor, allowing it to just skim the fence scale. This will reduce the magnification effect, and give a much closer reading.
See the enclosed graphic.
