I just purchased an old 1950’s era (I’m guessing) planer made by Yager. It has approximately an 11 inch blade and is made of fairly heavy castings. It hase seen considerable use over the years but has been well maintained and the moving parts have very little unwanted play. I have seen these type of tools over the years but I am personally unfamilar with them and I am interested in learning more about this machine and in particular where to find blades. There is no model number available so even general information would be helpful. Thanks

well, in the past, i've been directed to http://www.oldwwtools.com and here's a quip i found in their forums...
"The Yager and K-Line planers were made by Astro Wood Planer
Co., Inc. out of Bristol, Conn. It was available with ####hand crank feed and power feed. One little option was an
add on table that would allow you to slant the bed left to
right (when viewing it from the infeed/outfeed). This would
allow you to make put a draft on a piece. In other words,
make a board that was thinner along one edge.
My only info is dated 1977. The hand crank model sold for
$500 and the power feed sold for $90. Full bore with stand,
motor, switch, etc., $751.
Ping me privately at keeter@w... and I'd be happy to
send a copy of the flyer to your very house."
now you gave me something to do at work... i'll see what else i can find for you! lol
this guy seems to have something that may intrest you, too...
"P.S.: I have some info on, and own, a K-line 2000 thickness planer,
aka Kneisley or Yager. I would be happy to share copies of the
printed factory info sheets for the K-200010 1/2" and K-2200 12 1/2"."
