Your favorite blade for finish rip-cuts
I’m going to be ripping some 1×4 oak pieces soon and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for 7 1/4 blades that they think give a really great rip cut? Also any recommendations on plywood blades or on rip fences? Clamping a piece of wood as a straightedge isn’t working too well as the plywood I use as a table over the sawhorses tends to sag and the saw rides under the 2×4. This will be done in an older Bosch circular saw by the way.

I've used the Freud Diablo 7 1/4 24 tooth blade. Does excellent rip cutting even thru a few nails without chipping a tooth. Try one, it only cost about $10 to $11. Even the perma-shield coating is a plus on treated wood.
Good luck
Ray, for starters put three 2x4's across the horses and then the plywood.Use a straight edge ripped from a manmade panel such as plywood or MDF 9(medium density fiberboard). You can get an 8'-0" rip at Home Depot. They are sold as shelving. Now you have a solid bench and a good straight edge. Freud rip blades do a good job, most quality combination blades would be fine. I have used a thin kerf Pirrana blade with 24 teeth with good success.
