Im installing my cabinet doors I’m also pretty new to this. I have been using blum cup hinges, in a few spots I’m using 180’s I’ve noticed that that these 180’s push my door in 1/4 inch off of the cabinet frame and ruining the reveals I have around the rest of the doors in the kitchen. Is there a trick to setting these or should I try another brand?

Which kind of Blum cup hinge are you using? The ones which fasten to the front of a face frame have a 3/16" gap between the back of the door and the front of the face frame. They need that space for the guts of the hinge. The other kinds of Blum cup hinges can be adjusted to a small gap. They're the ones with a separate mounting plate which goes inside the cabinet. You can use them on a face-frame box by gluing in a mounting block behind the face frame.
Thanks for your reply, my grandfather explained it to me there was a term for this type of hinge. Problem solved thanks. Nick
