Hi all!
I have a Griz 1023slx table saw and received several zero clearance inserts for it. However, they don’t fit tightly, yet there is no play in any direction either. Is this a concern? I was able to cut the slot without an issue. Should the zero clearance plate fit tightly?
Thanks

The inserts for my Unisaw do not fit tight. It has never been a problem. My inserts do have a pin in them that hooks under the saw table behind the blade to keep the blade from flipping the the insert out.
Many have a screw at the back that you use to remove any slop (back it out so the screw head snugs it up). You could simply drill a hole and thread in a screw or a couple set screws if you are worried about it.
Hi Scott Think of it like that slight clearance between the blade hole and the shaft. If it wasn't there, you would have to hammer the blade onto the shaft. How about using one or two layers of scotch tape to take out that bit of play you object to?? SawdustSteve
Heh, I damn near have to screw my sawblade onto the arbor. :)
