I want to make zero clearance TS inserts for my General 650. One of the wood working mags. had an article awhile back that included a splitter. If anyone can remember what magazine that would be great. I can’t purchase an aftermarket for the 650, they’re not available.

The September 2002 issue of American Woodworker had an article on making zero clearance inserts.
The materials used were two pieces of 1/4 inch tempered hardboard sandwiched together with plastic laminate on both sides.
Other than cutting a slot for an existing splitter, this article did not include a splitter as part of the insert. I don't remember which article I read suggesting a dowel installed behind the blade to act as a splinter. The dowel was the width of the saw kerf.
Good luck,
Greg

Here's a link to one of several DIY inserts/splitters that showed up in a Google search:

The link for the search is:

IMO, the aforementioned mag article describes way more work than is needed to make a ZC, unless the WWer doesn't yet have a planer for thicknessing the stock.
