Fine Woodworking HANDS ON San Diego launches this Oct. 4-6, 2019, at Palomar College in San Marcos. This exciting event features a series of intensive hands-on workshops focused on building woodworking skills through personalized instruction by top experts in in the field. HANDS ON is all about making and doing, with small classes that encourage one-on-one instruction and interaction. You’ll work hard and have some fun in between classes with social events, where you’ll be able to mingle with the masters: Michael Cullen, Michael Fortune, Chris Gochnour, Mike Mahoney, Michael Pekovich, and Vic Tesolin.
Over the course of the weekend you’ll discover new techniques and skills:
• Make a mitered box with a kumiko lid
• Transform your design ideas into practical pieces of furniture
• Build a classic Japanese Toolbox
• Master hand-cut joinery
• Discover the finer points of bowl turning
• Make your own custom bandsawn box

About the School
Palomar College is a public two-year community college located in San Marcos, California, approximately 30 miles north of San Diego. Palomar enrolls approximately 30,000 full-time and part-time students, who may choose from more than 200 associate degree and certificate programs, complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree, or enjoy personal enrichment classes for lifelong learning. Its woodworking curriculum is diverse and robust.
