Miter Key Jig

I use this miter key jig when building boxes, frames, etc…. anywhere I want to reinforce the miter. Miter keys also provide a nice visual effect. From a 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ hardwood scrap, I created a “cut sampler”. This lets me see how high I need to raise the blade to obtain a miter key of a certain length.

Looks great! Isn"t this very similar to the commercial version sold by Eagle America? What are your dimensions?

Great job on this jig. I've been making Doug Stowe style boxes and pen display boxes and this jig is much more universal than the one I'm currently using. Now I have another project to do! Thanks.
