Mouse Cabinet
This cabinet is made from Maple. The wicker is beech. The mouse is Cherry. The dovetails are a design I came up with thinking that it would be neat to do something more difficult then a standard dovetail. These were very difficult because of the curves and sharp corners. It was difficult to get tools in to clean them up while keeping them tight. The mouse is handcarved and my gf tole painted it. It’s whiskers are paint brush bristles. This cabinet was made to store my spices.

Your creepy little mouse gets a pass because of those dovetails. They look like something that might have emerged from King Tut's tomb. Excellent, fresh design.
What a great looking unique piece
of furniture. Very well done kolwdwrkr.
Really interesting dovetails, but I especially liked the mouse poking his head out!

The little mouse attracts immediate interest to your excellent craftsmanship. In my opinion, this is a really striking design.

Wow...At first glance I thought it was a REAL mouse and thought why would you want to submit a mouse-chewed cabinet? (Even after you mentioned the mouse was Cherry--I thought that was it's NAME!). Then I went WOW!... it's carved!! Very cool dovetail design--the center reminds me of a guillotine blade--perhaps for the fate of the invading varmint?
I like the dovetails. How did you carve the curved faces of them?
I really loved the mouse idea and the way it came out. Very original and well, just plain fun. The dovetails on the curve drawer also demonstrate the high level of your woodworking skills. An altogether wonderfully done project.
