Dutch pullout Dining room table
I had seen a design of a table (rodel inspired cherry table) on fine wood working which I loved and adapted it with the features of 2 pullout sections and also built it out of Red Oak. The center leaf is fixed to the apron, the top table top floats on 6 dowel pins. The table is 36 inches wide by 72 inches long and extends out to 132 inches long.

Nice Job - very professional. You should post plans for it.
Steve- I'm failing to see how the ends stay level w/ the middle (top table top) when it is expanded; especially if the center leaf is fixed. Could you explain -or - add a few more pix for clarity; I'm very interested in building this style table.
the leaves are attached to 2 oak slides that ride on the apron. they are inclined so that they rise up 3/4 of an inch. the top table top floats on 6 dowels which are attached to the center section, this allows the upper table top to float up as the leaves pull out. when the leaves pull out all the way the top table top falls down on the slides so that the leaves and the top are at the same height. If you look at my last pic it shows the slides that are attached to the outer leaves. The end of the slides are under the center leaf when pulled out all the way. So when any downward pressure on the leaf, it will be supported by the center leaf because the fulcrum point is at the apron.
Love your table. Would it be possible to get plan dimensions and more info on the design? I have downloaded the Tage Frid plan but yours looks better.
1jeeper - is there any chance that you would be willing to show me your plans for this table - I have a large family and this table would fit the bill. I have an idea how it works but not sure how you fit the stretchers onto the legs and also how the arms for the leafs are made and operate. Thanks for any help you can give me.
