Chinese Chest

Built entirely from reclaimed materials – even the steel for the hardware. Inside the lid there is a hidden compartment. I also built a base to display the chest a little higher off of the ground for better viewing – also from reclaimed wood.

Very nice, was the carving already in the pieces or is it old wood recarved. Nice to see recycling in woodwork.

There was nothing but planks. I did all of the design - every pattern, the carvings, construction, and fabrication of hardware.
