Redfish "King" sea kayak design
After building three other boats, I decided to build an 18′ sea kayak for myself. The is a Redfish King design built of 1/4″ thick X 5/8″ wide redwood and western red cedar strips. Accents of basswood, walnut and mahagony were also used. All total, the kayak is made of 351 strips of wood. The kayak hull has bead and cove strips glued to one another and covered with fiberglass inside and out. She paddles as good as she looks!
