The door before staining and fitting
A commision to design and make an Oak door of “character” to be fitted in a 300 year old thatched cottage. It took several months to locate the Oak witht the character we were looking for. The window is of “Norman Arch” proportions and I think suits the doorwell although it took some time to make. I don’t normally like to stain timber it was necessary to fit in with the existing doors and several coats of wax brought up the character nicely.

Outside face of door. This was a very pleasing project and an opportunity to work with a client who appreciated the workmanship and quality of the finished door. It certainly looked the part and fitted in with the thatched cottage very well.
