Contemporary Shoe Cabinet

Small cabinet for stashing shoes in hard maple and ebonized poplar. Case is dovetailed. Base utilizes floating tenon joinery. Fixed shelf is joined with sliding dovetail, glued only on the front 1″. The rest is allowed to float to account for wood movement. Finish is 1 coat sanding sealer and 2 coats water-based laquer, all sprayed on.
