Veneered Coffee Table
I am a very new at this. Started building pieces only a couple of years ago. This is my 5th piece and I really would like to know what do you think of it, the design and everything else.
The table is veneered of course, the veneer is figured gaboon. For the inside of the circle I bleached the veneer and dyed it golden/yellow. The finish is water based lacquer, which I brushed. It took the longest time to finish it and I don’t know how many coats I applied.

The finish looks great and contrasting the yellow inner circle with the outside of the table was a good idea. The taper of the top and bottom adds a nice detail. I'm a big fan of the style of tables that look like their tops are floating.
This is your fifth piece - WOW! I'm very impressed!! I love the design, figure of the wood and contrasting colors. I can't wait to see when you've got 30-40 pieces of experience under your belt.

Love this table!! I have just about finished my workshop to a level where i can start working in and have my first project nearly finished, it is a veneered coffee table too, will have pictures up soon. Would love to tackle something like this for my next project, would greatly appreciate any information you have on it such as, What glue and methods you used? What veneers you chose, looks fantastic, keep up the good work!! Any info could be emailed on to me, [email protected], thanks.
