Cube side tables
These “Cube” side tables are a simple, modern design. Because they have no defined bottom or top they can be used in different configurations as low or higher side tables or as a base for a granite or glass top. Made from a simple Baltic Birch form then veneered, I used a new product- “Echowood” veneer to cover the birch. Echowood is made from compressed Beech ( a fast growing, renewable wood) that has been stained, compressed, then sliced to resemble, in this case Zebrawood and Macassar Ebony. I used water based contact ahesive and waterbourne finishes to keep the pieces a “green” as possible. Overall dimensions 20″H X 14″W X 16″L.

I like all your posted pieces 'alot'
Great work. I am about to begin a similar project using MDF veneer (if that is what you used here). I plan to build different sized cubes and hang them on the wall as book shelvs. Can you provide any constuction advise? How did you fasten or joint the material? Where can I read up on cutting and glueing veneer? Any direction would be great.
