Very nice work. I like that you added a bit of the carving that appears in a few G&G pieces during that period.
Glen, great craftsmanship wonderfull detail. If I may be so bold as to say the design is to much. Less is best. The green and green style is elegant and simple. You have used your artistic degree to much. Next time use one type of wood for the structure and frame and use accent ebony only for corners to lead your eye to a balanced piece. Good luck and happy carving.
Being in the Greene and Greene style I find that your detailing is not too much, but rather appropriate. I love your bridle joint. As well, your pegs all look clean and crisp. They protrude at a pleasing height. I think you did a heck of a job. Good work!
Your interpretation of G&G design is very, very well done. Each detail is its own craft narrative for anyone who takes the time to examine this beautiful piece. Thanks!
