Plywood table and lamp
About a year ago I make some weight lifting boxes for a friend out of 3/4″ CDX plywood. I had alot of waste, but instead of throwing it out, I started gluing pieces together. Before I knew it I had made a coffee table and a lamp, both of which made great wedding presents and the only cost was the glue (Titebond II) and the lamp parts. Turning plywood is tricky and time consuming. Wear face protection, keep your chisels sharp, and be patient. I’m currently building a plywood table in which I am experimenting with the cutting and gluing procedures. When it’s done I’ll post it. By the way, I would not stain the plywood. I tried it and it hid most of the grain and glue lines that give the unstained plywood its unique look. On these I used 5 coats of polymerized tung oil.
